About

Fast Lap is a technical "Circuit-Racing Simulation" focused on "Ideal Racing Line" theory. The technical core involves "Traction Circle Physics," where players must balance braking, turning, and acceleration forces. Unlike arcade racers, "Drifting" is often slower; the goal is "Grip Racing"—hitting the apex of every corner to maintain maximum exit velocity without understeering off the track.

Controls

You pilot a formula car or GT racer. Your objective is to set the fastest lap time. Interaction is "Analog Steering" and "Brake/Throttle." You must follow the track layout. Indicators often show the "Braking Line" (Red = Brake, Green = Gas). Leaving the track incurs a speed penalty (grass/gravel friction). You race against the clock or "Ghost Data" of your best lap.

Strategy

Setting a world record depends on "Slow-In, Fast-Out." Do not brake late. Brake before the corner so you can accelerate through the apex. A pro strategy is "Curb Usage"—putting your inside tires on the red-and-white curbs effectively widens the track, allowing you to carry more speed through the turn radius. Minimize steering angle to reduce tire scrub and friction.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Why does my car slide out?

A: You are "Overdriving." Applying full throttle while steering fully lock-to-lock exceeds the tire's grip limit. Smooth inputs are faster than aggressive inputs.

Q: What is "Drafting"?

A: If racing AI, driving behind them reduces air resistance, increasing top speed. In "Time Trial" mode, drafting is disabled; it's just you and the physics engine.
